Analisa lives by the Maya Angelou quote, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Analisa is a passionate third generation Xicana, born and raised in San Jose, with roots in Yahualica and D.F. She was raised by a single mom, who taught her resilience, compassion, and the importance of sisterhood, having been raised with three older sisters. Being exposed to domestic violence, street violence, and drug addiction since a young age, Analisa brings compassion and desire to dismantle the systems of oppression that have targeted communities of color.

Over the last few years, Analisa has spent time supporting system impacted young people and expanding her knowledge and experience doing community organizing, political advocacy, and cultural healing. As a Self-Determination Coach, she is committed to restoring hope and empowering her siblings to stand in their truth and use their voice to fight against the system that has silenced them because of their identity.

She brings with her two degrees in Justice Studies and Sociology, which she hopes to utilize continuing her work as a community advocate and healer. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her familia, expressing herself through creative make-up, journaling and reading. Analisa joined YWFC in November 2019.
