Krea Gomez

Education Director, Statewide

Pronouns: She/Her

Krea was introduced to justice work as a 16-year old street outreach worker at YWFC and it changed her life. Since then, she has spent years learning how to support her community and her people as an organizer, assisted parents in delivering babies as a doula, had her own children and was a teacher and Dean of Students at a social justice and arts-focused school. She recently returned to the Center in 2017.

She does this work because she believes that if we are ever going to see justice for system-impacted individuals and their families, they must be the ones to guide this movement. As the Education Director, she creates and leads trainings to equip YWFC staff and members with skills to organize and advocate for themselves and their people and to fight for the lives and futures our ancestors sacrificed their lives for us to have and that we all deserve. As Malcolm X said, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
