Angelina is proud Chicana born and raised in San Jose, with both Mexican and Jicarilla Apache roots. She carries her passion for community work with her whole heart.
Domestic violence, foster care, an incarcerated father and familial drug addictions left Angelina feeling like she had few paths to walk growing up. After the loss of a foster brother to gang violence and the birth of a younger sister, she decided to move forward to make her own path, despite many statistics and risk factors.
Bringing her experience in community organizing paired with her personal experiences to YWFC, she prides herself in continuing to build rapport and walk with youth as they let their light show and grow. She encourages youth to question all the labels society places upon them and determine their own identity and path. Angelina has been with YWFC since November 2019.
