Pronouns: She/Her

Joycelyn first started at Young Women’s Freedom Center with the 2019 Siblings on the Rise internship. She then was given the opportunity to become an organizing VERA fellow.  Joycelyn found a passion for seeking justice in her community, especially after becoming  a young mother to her son. She has expressed how she wants to change the system because it was not designed to protect us but to Oppress us. Joycelyn is now the Lead Fellow for Santa Clara County’s pilot fellowship program When Young Moms Thrive, hoping to bring change when it comes to the needs of young families.
