Our programs are designed to meet young women where they are at and engage them in a process over time to deepen their understanding of themselves, increase their self-determination and build their capacity as leaders and advocates.
Girls Detention Advocacy Project
Providing training, support, court advocacy, and sisterhood to young women in incarceration in juvenile hall, group homes, jail, and prison.
Lift Us Up, Don't Lock Us Down
A gender specific curriculum designed for and by young women that have been incarcerated to increase critical thinking so that women and girls can understand how the system works and contextualize their experiences in relation to what is happening in the world, can begin an internal process of decriminalizing themselves, and increase their leadership and self-determination. Currently offered in San Francisco's juvenile hall, women's jail, in group homes, and expanding to surrounding bay area counties.
System Advocacy and Support
Our system advocacy and support programs take on many forms from speaking with a young woman about her options, providing training and education about what is happening and how the system works, writing letters to women that are doing hard time, and being there as advocates and sisters throughout the process.
